Chess Fever Grips Tamil Nadu as Sacred Heart College Hosts Grand Tournament

Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu – Chess enthusiasts across the state are eagerly awaiting the 1st TN State Level Open Chess Tournament, organized by the Sacred Heart College Alumni Association in view of Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the College. Set to take place on September 15, 2024, this prestigious event promises an intense day of rapid-fire strategy and skill at the historic Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) in Tirupattur.

With a total prize fund of ₹1,25,000, the stakes are high. Apart from cash prizes and awards for the open category, the top performers in the Under 09, 11, and 14 Boys & Girls categories stand a chance to win from a pool of 30 prizes (20 for toppers and 10 for progressive players), showcasing the event's commitment to nurturing young talent. Additionally, 10 Progressive Players Prizes are earmarked exclusively for participants from Tirupattur District, along with 2 Progressive Players Prizes for competitors from each of the 10 participating districts.
